Meet Rick:
Rick joined our firm in 2019 to provide tax return preparation services during the busy tax seasons. He works nearly full-time during tax season and part-time the rest of the year. Rick is a Western Michigan University graduate and has been a CPA for nearly 40 years. After graduating from WMU, Rick spent 10 years in public accounting, the last 5 years as a tax manager with KPMG, one of the world’s largest accounting and consulting firms. He spent the next 23 years as a partner with a pension consulting/investment advisory firm in the Lansing area. After the firm was sold, he and his wife, Lisa, moved to their long-time cottage on Manistee Lake in Kalkaska to enjoy everything that Northern Michigan has to offer.
Since Rick is primarily involved with our individual tax return clients, he enjoys helping them with not only their income tax needs, but also any other financial planning needs they may have. Tax planning in the first couple years of retirement is very important and Rick will always have a thorough discussion with clients about what to expect.
Rick has been active in Rotary International for nearly 30 years, including as Past President of the Williamston Rotary Club, and the current President of the Kalkaska Rotary Club. In addition to many different leadership positions with Rotary, he has served on several charitable organization boards over the years. Besides enjoying beautiful Manistee Lake, Rick’s hobbies include golf, biking, hiking, and playing many games of Candyland with his grandchildren. He is still searching for his first win.
